A massive explosion took place in Tianjin, China on Wednesday, reportedly killing 50 people including 12 firefighters and 700 others injured. The process of chain explosions started at Binhai New Area on the city’s coast around 11:30 PM and explosions were so huge that they could have been seen from space. According to sources dangerous stuff was stored in a warehouse and somehow it caught on fire. Experts are saying explosions were equal to exploding 30 tons of TNT and they shattered the doors and windows of nearby building and burner several things.
Reporters said 1000 firefighters were deployed during Tianjin blast out of which 12 lost their lives and 32 are severely injured and at least 8 fire engines were burnt but they still kept working and helping people around and saved hundreds of lives. Industrial accidents are not uncommon in China following three decades of breakneck economic growth. A blast at an auto parts factory in eastern China killed 75 people a year ago when a room filled with metal dust exploded.
