Hitting it off with the legends, Elvis Presley the name that even millennials are impressed with was just a toddler and unaware of the road to success back in 1936 when a ferocious tornado, the worst of its kind F5 hit the town of Tupelo, Mississippi and left about 233 people dead on the spot as the tornado ripped through the houses and devastated many. The king of pop only one year old at the time and luckily him and his house were left unscratched later to lure the hearts of men and women everywhere. The tornado not only passed through the city of Tupelo but also on its way hit a few nearby areas which caused an additional death toll of about 203 people. The house the Elvis Presley remains till this day in, the only difference that you will find is the roof which was changed due to the deterioration that comes with time and age, other than that it remains the same as it was before.

If you know about the gorgeous Julia Roberts who ruled the world after the hit “Pretty woman” then you have surely heard about her famous brother Eric Roberts, the hunky actor in “King of the Gypsies” back in 1978. The gorgeous man is not only an actor but also the director of well known movies such as “The Expendables”, “The Dark Knight” and many more. What you did not know is the horrible accident that rendered him disfigured and in a coma for three days. This was just in the beginning of his film career but the accident put him in the worst condition and gave him injuries like facial trauma, injured brain and broken bones. The injury was so severe that it altered his look and it even influenced him to change his mode from a hero to a villain in the movies that he performed afterwards.

One of the highlights of the popular “Oprah Winfrey show” was the interior designing segment guided by the doe eyed Nate Berkus, but this is not the only reason he was known to the audience. In 2004 when the horrendous Tsunami torpedoed the country of Sri Lanka; unfortunately the interior designer was there on a get away with his then partner photographer Fernando Bengoechea, the couple saw the tides coming their way and grabbed onto a telephone pole nearby but the winds were so strong that it blew away Nate’s partner and even after many attempts in searching for him, the photographer was later presumed dead. The tragic event left Nate deeply saddened and although he did move on with his life he still to this day talks about his grave loss and how it affected him.

The cute and funny star of comedies like “Never been kissed” and “50 first dates” had an encounter with death. This was back in the day when her very brief marriage with Tom Green made headlines; they were living in their epic mansion situated just outside of Beverly Hills. The couple was sound asleep when they were startled by their dog Flossie at 3:30 am, who was constantly growling and barking to wake up the couple to a fire that was started inside their house. The fire was so horrific that it took almost 60 firefighters to get them safely outside. The couple came out without any injuries from their 3500 square feet home which was then down in ashes and almost cost an estimated $700,000 when they first bought it.
6. Elizabeth Taylor
The beautiful Elizabeth Taylor married the then theatre producer Mike Todd in 1957; the young and beautiful couple tied the knot in Mexico, but unfortunately the vows till death do us part came very quickly for Mike Todd. The couple had just been married a year when Todd had to go away on business in his private plane which was customized with “Liz” on both sides. The love for his wife was so great that on that day despite constant insistence that she go with him, Todd forced Liz to stay back on account of a heavy fever that she was running. This was what saved her life because when the plane took off it crashed leaving everyone on board including Mike Todd dead on the spot.

Curtis Jackson A.K.A. rapper 50 Cent not only survived one but nine different gunshots in front of his grandmother’s house. The damage was caused not only in his arms and legs but also to his chest and face and shot in his mouth. Instead of letting his enemies celebrate their victory, 50 turned the tables and came out as an international well known rapper that we know and love today. He now says that it is the accident that made him stronger and motivated him to push further and the shot to his mouth actually altered his voice which became an asset to his professional career instead of making him weaker.
4. Michael J. Fox
Living in the 21 st century we all are still crazy about the back to the future series and how cute Michael J Fox looked in the movies. What nobody knew was that it was the same movie that took him into the light during a film shooting. The actor in his attempt to make a scene look more “real” removed a box that was supporting his feet in a scene where he had to be hanged by a rope. This led to him actually being hanged by the rope which cut off his blood supply and he became unconscious for a good few seconds. The actor risked his life for his career, and later was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease which made matters worse for him in his future.

Back in the day when Mr. West did not have Kim Kardashian by his side nor did he have all that fame and glory, he was just in the making of his career. He experienced a near death car accident. The accident caused a lot of damage especially to his face, the now famous rapper and member of the Kardashian family had to not only put a metal plate in his chin but go through severe facial reconstructive surgery to heal the injuries made to his face. Rumor has it that at the time he had to pay for everything straight out of his pocket but ended up with a silver lining with the hit song “Through the wire” written in the hospital.
2. Rachel Bilson
Fashion junkie and star of the hit series “The OC”, the beautiful Rachel Bilson has had her fair share of near death experience. This was at a time when she was not known for her acting skills but was just a small teenage girl, living it with her friends. They decided to hit the road and drive up to the beach in Sunny California. However the trip was interrupted by a head on collision, leaving Bilson and her friends gravely injured. The actress still recalls the near death experience and has a permanent reminder in the shape of a scar above her right eye; this was due to the window jabbed into her head during the accident. Although she is now past the accident but effects still remain from her horrific past as migraines and at times memory loss.

The man with the looks and charm that girls go “gaa gaa” over had a not so pleasant experience in 2004 when he was shooting for the film “Syriana”. The film had some intense scenes one in which a chair was smashed over his head. It was during that scene that things went wrong and Clooney was seriously injured by the head smashing. This left him with intense headaches that according to him felt like a stroke. For months doctors could not assess properly what had went wrong and the actor even thought about suicide as a way of dealing with his pain. Luckily one of the doctors he sought found the cause which lay in the Dura mater, the outer matter of the brain and provided him with the right treatment.
